Nigerian firms report H1 2026 earnings: Berger Paints profit up, VFD Group profit surge, Trans‑Nationwide Express loss

Berger Paints Nigeria Plc announced a 26% increase in profit after tax to ₦789 million for the six months ended 30 June 2026, with revenue rising 13% to ₦6.97 billion and earnings per share climbing to 272 kobo. The company’s share price closed the period at ₦147.30, lifting its market capitalisation to about ₦42.69 billion.

Trans‑Nationwide Express Plc reported a loss after tax of ₦46.31 million for the same half‑year, with revenue of ₦72.01 million. Administrative expenses of ₦80.97 million exceeded gross profit, leaving the logistics firm operating at a loss.

Investment firm VFD Group posted a near‑doubling of net profit, with after‑tax earnings of ₦10.1 billion, up from ₦5 billion a year earlier. Revenue grew to ₦53.7 billion, driven by a 102.8% rise in investment income. The board declared an interim dividend of ₦0.24 per share.
