Berghaus opens first standalone North West store in Manchester

British outdoor brand Berghaus has opened its first standalone store in North West England at the Manchester Arndale shopping centre. The 2,750 sq ft retail space features a variety of menswear, womenswear, bags, and accessories, ranging from everyday wear to technical mountaineering and hiking gear.

Adam Field, Berghaus vice-president of brand marketing, described the opening as a major milestone, noting the brand's six decades of Northern heritage and its connection to the Manchester audience. The brand has seen increased momentum among younger consumers due to trends like gorpcore and athleisure.

Founded in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1966 by Peter Lockey and Gordon Davison, Berghaus is currently undergoing a new chapter under the leadership of Bob Neville, Pentland's global head of retail.
