Bergische Universität physicists auction LEGO ATLAS detector model

Physicists from Bergische Universität have constructed a 1:50 scale model of the CERN ATLAS detector using 9,571 LEGO bricks. Originally created in 2014 to make particle physics research more accessible to students and visitors, the model is now being auctioned as a collector's item.

The auction is scheduled for Friday, September 11, at the Kunsthalle Barmen in Wuppertal, with a starting bid of 2,000 euros. All proceeds from the sale will support the work of the Kunsthalle Barmen. The event will include a lecture by Professor Dr. Wolfgang Wagner regarding research conducted at CERN.
