Bergischer HC loses preseason test match amid injury

Bergischer HC suffered a 33-40 defeat against TuS Ferndorf during a preseason handball test match. The loss was compounded by personnel issues, most notably an injury to Sören Steinhaus. Steinhaus landed awkwardly on his shoulder following contact during a shot and was taken to a hospital for examination.

Coach Markus Pütz described the early injury as a "shock" that forced the team into unfamiliar playing configurations, leading to numerous technical errors. While player Fynn Hangstein performed well offensively, converting all seven of his penalty shots, the team conceded 40 goals. The coaching staff expressed dissatisfaction with the current form but noted that the results are secondary to the ongoing three-week preparation period.
