Bergkamen police seek suspect after attack on two elderly women

Police in Bergkamen are searching for a suspect following an attack on two elderly women on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred around 3:35 p.m. on Landwehrstraße near the ‘Auf der Alm’ bus stop.

A suspect, described as being approximately 30 years old with a medium to sturdy build, black shoulder-length hair, and dark eyes, reportedly approached the women—aged 86 and 92—by asking for directions. During the interaction, the suspect forcibly tore a necklace from the 86-year-old woman's neck. The victim sustained minor injuries.

After being noticed by witnesses, the suspect fled the scene in a car toward Werner Straße. The police have released a description of the suspect, noting she was wearing a black T-shirt and either a black skirt or black trousers, and spoke German with a slight accent. Authorities are requesting any information regarding the suspect or the getaway vehicle.
