Bergsma trio wins Jan Timmer competition in Kimswerd

Marten Bergsma, Rick Minnesma, and Erwin Zijlstra won the Jan Timmer main class free formation competition in Kimswerd. In the final, the trio defeated Jorrit Nanninga, Sjoerd de Jong, and Jan Bandstra with scores of 5-2 and 6-4.

In a notable upset during the first round, Johan Sipma, Gabe-Jan van Popta, and Hendrik Kootstra eliminated the favorites, Menno van Zwieten, Rick Minnesma, and Tjisse Steenstra. Minnesma was later able to join Bergsma’s team as a substitute after his initial team was knocked out.

The third-place prize was awarded to the team consisting of Corné Tuinenga, Yoram Elzinga, and Klaas-Pier Folkertsma. The event was organized by the kaatsvereniging De Helfrichs.
