Bergwacht rescues common buzzard in Berchtesgadener Land

The Bergwacht Marktschellenberg responded to a call to rescue a common buzzard in the Berchtesgadener Land district. The incident occurred along the Steinerweg, a path through wooded areas near the Austrian border.

The young bird reportedly became trapped in a crevice of a beech tree trunk, likely during a hunting attempt, at a height of approximately three to four meters. Volunteers were able to reach the bird using a ladder rather than specialized climbing equipment.

The buzzard has been placed in the care of a falconer who will work to rehabilitate the injured animal.
