Berisso Immigrant Festival elects new Cultural Ambassadors

The 49th Provincial Immigrant Festival in Berisso has named its new cultural representatives. Facundo Trabella, representing the Polish community, was elected as Cultural Ambassador, while Sebastián Sproviero Bufi from the Albanian community was chosen as Vice Ambassador.

The selection process, held at the Parque Cívico, involved candidates from various communities including Germany, Armenia, Croatia, Ireland, and Ukraine. The event drew significant public attendance, with participants presenting traditional costumes and dances.

However, the election was marked by controversy regarding the judging process. Jury member Luis Podestá reported that the initial evaluation resulted in a tie between the German and Polish representatives. While the jury originally favored the German candidate for Ambassador, a dispute arose concerning a three-second time excess during the German participant's dance performance. This claim, reportedly raised by local officials, led to tension during the final decision-making stage.
