Police in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, are urging residents to keep their doors locked following a bizarre incident involving a stranger. On the evening of Saturday, September 5, a homeowner allowed an unknown individual into their residence to use the bathroom.
According to the Berkeley Heights Police Department, the man subsequently turned off the bathroom lights and attempted to hide from both the homeowner and responding officers. While police stated they took appropriate action to resolve the situation safely, they have issued a public reminder to the Union County community to avoid letting strangers into their homes, even if they appear to need assistance.
