Berkshire Hathaway prioritizes reinvestment and Alphabet stake

Berkshire Hathaway continues to prioritize capital reinvestment and acquisitions over dividend payments. Since 1965, the conglomerate has paid a dividend only once, in 1967. Under the leadership of CEO Greg Abel, the company maintains a policy of retaining earnings to create market value rather than distributing cash to shareholders.

Recent investment activities include an $8.5 billion acquisition of homebuilder Taylor Morrison and a significant increase in its stake in Alphabet. Berkshire increased its Alphabet position by $17 billion during the second quarter. Other notable holdings include American Express, which serves as a major investment due to its dual role as a lender and payment network and its affluent customer base.
