Berkum residents discuss Vechtrand urban development plans

Residents of Berkum recently gathered at De Weijenbelt to discuss the Vechtpoort/Vechtrand development project. The initiative, organized by the local neighborhood association, aims to ensure community input during the early stages of the municipality of Zwolle’s urban planning process.

Over eighty attendees participated in person, contributing to more than 300 total responses via the meeting and the website. Participants identified six primary areas of concern and opportunity: traffic and accessibility, green spaces and nature, housing development, local livability and village character, and community facilities.
