Berlin awards Order of Merit to twelve citizens

Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner presented the Order of Merit of the State of Berlin to twelve citizens during the annual ceremony held on October 1, the state's Constitution Day.

Among the recipients was Reinhard Müller, founder of EUREF-Campus. Müller was honored for his long-term commitment to monument preservation, urban development, and transforming the historic gasometer site in Schöneberg into an international innovation hub for energy transition and sustainability.

Bastian Finke was also awarded the honor for his 36 years of work in anti-discrimination, anti-violence, and victim support. Finke was recognized for his extensive networking and initiatives within the LSBTIQ+ community, including his work with MANEO and efforts to improve relations between the community and law enforcement.
