Berlin, Berlin film revives iconic series heroine Lolle Holzmann

The German comedy film "Berlin, Berlin – Der Kinofilm" brings back Lolle Holzmann, the beloved lead of the early‑2000s ARD series "Berlin, Berlin". Felicitas Woll reprises the role, and the story follows Lolle after a wild car ride that lands her in court, her split from former partner Sven, and her plans to marry her neighbor Hart while running an animation production company.

The movie was originally scheduled for a theatrical premiere in March 2020 but was postponed by the COVID‑19 pandemic and released on Netflix instead. It is now being shown on WDR late‑night on Thursday 6 August 2026. The film leans heavily on nostalgia for the original series, which was broadcast in Germany and more than a dozen other countries.
