Berlin Brandenburg Airport employee assaulted by intoxicated passenger

A 21-year-old Estonian man is under investigation for serious bodily harm following a violent assault on an employee at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). The incident occurred on September 6 around 10:00 PM at the gate for an Air Baltic flight to Tallinn.

According to reports, the suspect was denied boarding due to heavy intoxication. In response, the man allegedly repeatedly struck the airport staff member in the face. Surveillance footage reportedly shows the victim bleeding on the ground while the attacker continued the assault. Although colleagues and passengers attempted to intervene, a second intoxicated individual accompanying the suspect reportedly obstructed their efforts.

The Federal Police and airport security eventually subdued the attacker and took him into custody. The victim required hospitalization due to the severity of the injuries.
