Berlin Brandenburg Airport supports 35,200 regional jobs
A new study has revealed the significant economic impact of Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) on the surrounding region. According to research commissioned by the Dahme-Spreewald Economic Development Agency and presented by the airport company, approximately 35,200 full-time jobs in Berlin and Brandenburg are directly or indirectly dependent on the airport.
The study, conducted by the Leipzig-based consultancy CONOSCOPE, analyzed internal operator data and surveyed 1,004 companies alongside 19 expert interviews. While the airport handled roughly 26.1 million passengers in 2025, the report highlights a need for improvement regarding flight offerings and connectivity. Specifically, only seven percent of internationally active companies expressed satisfaction with the current long-haul flight availability.
