Berlin breaks ground on 170 million euro Holzmarkt 51 project

The groundbreaking ceremony for the ‘Holzmarkt 51’ project has taken place in Berlin-Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The development, estimated to cost 170 million euros, is designed as a mixed-use urban quarter.

Designed by Eller + Eller Architekten, the project will integrate a swimming hall with two pools, 375 apartments, office spaces, and retail areas within a compact structure near the Berlin Stadtbahn. The event was attended by Olympic swimming champion Britta Steffen and Thomas Härtel, President of the State Sports Association.
