Berlin Computerspielemuseum Stays on Karl‑Marx‑Allee After Funding Shortfall

The Berlin Computerspielemuseum will not move to the planned House of Games complex because the Berlin Senate omitted funding for the relocation in its 2025 budget report. The museum will remain at its long‑standing site on Karl‑Marx‑Allee, where it has been located since 2011. Directors Martin Görlich and Daniel Schötz said the existing venue offers good public transport links and remains suitable for the museum’s activities. Visitor numbers for 2026 are projected at 120,000‑130,000, keeping the institution among the city’s top 30 museums. The museum continues to display a wide range of consoles, arcade machines and game literature, and will host the special exhibition “A Fantastic Failure” about the Nokia N‑Gage.
