Berlin districts host mental health and inclusion initiatives

Various social awareness initiatives are taking place in Berlin, focusing on mental health and inclusion. From October 10 to 20, 2026, the nationwide Mental Health Week aims to increase societal acceptance of individuals with severe mental illnesses, such as depression, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder. In the Treptow-Köpenick district, efforts are centered on prevention, education, and reducing the stigma that often prevents people from seeking help.

Additionally, the Spandau district will host Inclusion Action Weeks from November 2 to December 4, 2026, timed around the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. These events aim to promote accessibility and social participation through various activities, including art projects, sensory museum tours, and workshops featuring German Sign Language. The initiatives seek to identify existing barriers to participation and foster community engagement.
