Berlin election polls show tight race between major parties

With one month remaining until the Berlin Abgeordnetenhaus election, polling indicates an exceptionally tight race. The CDU, Die Linke, AfD, and the Greens are currently clustered within a narrow corridor of 15 to 20 percent support.

Die Linke has seen a surge in momentum, occasionally overtaking the CDU in recent polls. Party leader Elif Eralp attributed this rise to the party’s focus on rent policy, which remains a primary concern for Berlin residents. While the CDU previously held significant leads, recent political challenges facing leadership have impacted their standing.

The SPD is also navigating a contentious campaign. Candidate Steffen Krach has faced public scrutiny, including criticism from comedian Felix Lobrecht regarding his connection to the city. As the election approaches, the potential governing coalitions for the capital remain unpredictable.
