Berlin election: Wahl-O-Mat tool launched for voters
The Wahl-O-Mat, an interactive information tool designed to assist voters, has been launched online ahead of the Berlin House of Representatives election scheduled for September 20. The platform is a joint presentation by the Federal Agency for Civic Education and the Berlin State Agency for Civic Education.
Users can compare their political stances against the programs of 17 participating parties by responding to 38 specific theses. These topics cover key regional issues such as housing, education, migration, culture, waste management, and transportation. The tool allows users to agree, disagree, remain neutral, or skip questions, and provides justifications from the parties to increase transparency.
The selection of theses was developed by a team consisting of young voters, academic experts, and officials from the civic education agencies to reflect the most significant political questions facing the capital.
