Berlin hair salon linked to rapper Samra targeted in shooting

A hair salon in Berlin-Steglitz, Cutaleya, was targeted in a shooting early Monday morning. The establishment is reportedly owned by or associated with the rapper Samra. Multiple shots were fired into the shop's windows, and police discovered an unexploded improvised explosive or incendiary device near the premises on Osdorfer Straße.

No injuries were reported during the attack. The Berlin State Criminal Police Office has deployed the specialized unit “Ferrum” to investigate the incident. This unit was established to combat increasing firearm violence in the city and has initiated approximately 600 investigations since its inception.

While the motives remain unclear, the incident follows a pattern of violence involving the salon; in 2022, the shop was reportedly attacked by approximately 50 masked individuals. Investigators are looking into potential links to organized crime clans, which have historically been involved in disputes regarding associations with prominent musical figures. Samra, who performed in Berlin with rapper Capital Bra just a day prior to the shooting, has not yet issued a statement regarding the attack.
