Berlin hosts European Junior Judo Cup and Youth Championships
The Junior European Judo Cup took place in Berlin on 20‑21 June, drawing athletes and officials from many nations. Hessian IJF‑A referee Marcel Frost was selected to officiate the 73 kg final, reflecting confidence in his international expertise, while IJF‑B referee Daniel Lanz also gained final‑match experience.
During the first weekend of June, Berlin held its Youth Judo Championships for the under‑11 and under‑13 age groups. The events featured singles and doubles competitions, with winners including Anna Wang and Sofiia Polishchuk in the girls‑11 division, Yannick Weisner in the boys‑11 division, Vivian Wu in the girls‑13 division, and Finley Mycroft in the boys‑13 division. The tournaments were overseen by chief referee Mirko Janke and supported by local clubs and volunteers.
