Berlin hosts national finals of youth sports competition

The national finals of the school sports competition ‘Jugend trainiert für Olympia & Paralympics’ are taking place in Berlin from September 15 to 19, 2026.

Approximately 200 students from the state of Bremen gathered at the Bremen state representation in Berlin for a traditional reception. The group includes students from various institutions, such as Lloyd Gymnasium Bremerhaven and Gymnasium Links der Weser. State Councilor Nancy Böhning welcomed the participants, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and fair play.

In Schwerin, youth rowers from the Sportgymnasium Schwerin are also competing in the finals. The rowing events are held at the regatta course in Berlin-Grünau. The Schwerin teams include several boats in the U16 and U18 age categories, with athletes aiming to build on the success of previous years.
