Berlin intensifies bid for future Olympic Games

Berlin is intensifying its efforts to host future Olympic and Paralympic Games. Sports Senator Iris Spranger stated that a successful national bid for the 2036, 2040, or 2044 Games requires Berlin's involvement.

Berlin is part of a collaborative bid alongside Brandenburg, Saxony, and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, competing against other German proposals from Munich and the Ruhr region. Supporters of the Berlin bid emphasize that the project would provide long-term value through improved sports facilities and increased inclusion. The German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) is expected to announce its decision on September 26 in Baden-Baden.
