Berlin International Literature Festival begins with major authors

The international literature festival in Berlin has commenced, featuring a diverse lineup of prominent authors. Notable participants include Nobel laureate Han Kang, who is presenting her new book ‘Der goldene Faden’, and American author Dave Eggers, who is introducing his new novel ‘Contrapposto’.

Other scheduled authors include Douglas Stuart, presenting ‘John of John’, Ben Lerner, Christian Kracht, and Katie Kitamura. The festival's opening speech is to be delivered by Indian poet Jeet Thayil. Additionally, author Boualem Sansal is expected to speak.

The event includes various readings and discussions, with musical accompaniment provided by the Berlin Philharmonic for certain segments. Last year, the festival attracted approximately 25,000 visitors.
