Berlin man threatens children with rifle on balcony, SEK forces intervene

On Saturday night at about 22:45, police were called to the Stollberger Straße in the Hellersdorf district of Berlin after a 35‑year‑old man brandished a long‑barreled firearm on his balcony and threatened a group of playing children because of the noise. The children fled and a witness alerted authorities.

The Special Deployment Commando (SEK) entered the apartment and discovered the rifle with an empty magazine, two prohibited knives and roughly 8,700 untaxed cigarettes. The man, identified as a Moldovan national, was processed for identification and released. Two other occupants – a 47‑year‑old Greek tenant and a 43‑year‑old Russian woman – were taken into custody for fingerprinting and later released. The investigation remains ongoing.
