Berlin Memorial hosts exhibition on resistance to National Socialism

The Memorial to the German Resistance in Berlin is hosting a special exhibition titled ‘... dieser Feind steht rechts! Der Kampf gegen den Nationalsozialismus vor 1933’. The exhibition, which runs until August 23, 2026, explores the political and social struggles against National Socialism during the Weimar Republic.

Through 27 biographies of individuals from various sectors of society, the display highlights the diverse motivations and methods used to oppose the rising Nazi movement. It aims to demonstrate that the Weimar Republic was not a ‘democracy without democrats,’ showcasing the early warnings and resistance efforts by those defending fundamental rights and social achievements against antisemitic and right-wing extremist threats.
