Berlin musical ‘Wir sind am Leben’ debuts at Theater des Westens

The musical ‘Wir sind am Leben’ is being performed at the Theater des Westens in Berlin. Created by the songwriting duo Peter Plate and Ulf Leo Sommer, the production is loosely based on the 2011 Rosenstolz album of the same name.

Set in Berlin in 1990 following the fall of the GDR, the story explores themes of family, freedom, and the spirit of renewal in a changing city. The plot follows characters navigating life in a communal living space during a period of intense social and cultural transformation.
