Berlin, Paris, and London selected for 2027 World Cup swimming

World Aquatics has designated Berlin, Paris, and London as the host cities for the 2027 World Cup swimming series. These meets will serve as the exclusive qualification pathway for six new swimming events being added to the Los Angeles Olympic program: the 50m backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly for both men and women.

For each of these six events, only six qualifying spots will be awarded based on the final rankings at the specific World Cup meeting where the event is held. The schedule is as follows:

• Berlin (October 15–17): Men’s 50m backstroke and women’s 50m butterfly. • Paris (October 22–24): Men’s 50m butterfly and women’s 50m breaststroke. • London (October 29–31): Men’s 50m breaststroke and women’s 50m backstroke.

Each meeting will follow a three-day format consisting of heats, semifinals, and finals. While the World Cup is typically held in 25-meter pools, these sessions will transition to 50-meter pools to align with Olympic standards. Athens was also a candidate to host one of the meetings, but the international federation selected cities with established swimming traditions.
