Berlin police arrest suspects following violent resistance and trespassing

Police in Berlin have responded to two separate incidents involving suspects resisting arrest and causing injury or property damage.

In Friedrichshain, a 20-year-old man was arrested near Warschauer Brücke after allegedly committing a dangerous assault. During the arrest, the suspect reportedly resisted officers by kicking a policeman and using headbutts, resulting in a shoulder injury to the officer. The suspect also bit an officer's finger. Authorities suspect the individual may have been under the influence of intoxicants.

In Berlin-Mitte, a 39-year-old man was apprehended after trespassing into an apartment from a rooftop. The suspect barricaded himself in a bathroom and possessed dangerous objects, including a metal bar. Following warnings, an officer deployed a Taser to subdue the man. The suspect was subsequently taken to a psychiatric ward for evaluation and faces charges of trespassing, property damage, and resisting law enforcement.
