Separately, video footage from Friedrichshain shows a senior officer violently tackling a 57‑year‑old man after a street‑festival, causing serious injuries including a bruised jaw, rib fracture and possible nerve damage. Witnesses and legal experts describe the force as excessive and unwarranted. The victim was taken to a police station, denied immediate medical aid and later released, prompting criticism over police conduct and concerns for the rule of law in Berlin.
