Berlin police investigate 26-year-old disappearance of Sandra Wißmann

The disappearance of 12-year-old Sandra Wißmann in Berlin remains unsolved after 26 years. On November 28, 2000, Sandra set out to buy a birthday gift for her mother using 35 Marks from her pocket money.

Witnesses reported seeing the girl at a department store at Hermannplatz between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. However, she never arrived home. A classmate reported seeing her further away at a bridge on Cottbusser Damm shortly after, a detail that continues to complicate the investigation. Holger Lietz, head of the 5th Murder Commission at LKA Berlin, noted that the girl's own testimony is the only way to definitively answer why she deviated from her usual path.
