Berlin Police investigate antisemitic threats on U-Bahn

A 30-year-old man was subjected to antisemitic insults and threats by a group of young men on a Berlin U-Bahn line (U9) during the early hours of Saturday.

According to the Berlin Police, the victim was traveling in a carriage around midnight when the group began the harassment. The man exited the train at Berliner Straße station and used an emergency call button on a BVG pillar. The group reportedly followed him as he continued his journey.

The victim eventually exited the train again at Eisenacher Straße station and reported the incident to a nearby police station. The State Protection Department of the State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation and is securing video footage from the train and the stations.
