Berlin Police investigate assault during election poster installation in Moabit

An altercation occurred in the Moabit district of Berlin on a Thursday evening involving individuals attempting to put up election posters. According to the Berlin Police, three men aged 24, 34, and 44 were verbally insulted and confronted by three other men while attaching posters to lamp posts.

During the incident, one 28-year-old suspect allegedly kicked a trolley and stole election posters and cable ties. He was subsequently detained by a 44-year-old man until police arrived. Another 28-year-old suspect was reportedly punched in the face by an unidentified person, resulting in a facial injury that required outpatient treatment. Additionally, a 30-year-old suspect reportedly tackled a 34-year-old man to the ground.

The police have initiated several investigations, including charges for bodily harm, insult, and attempted property damage. The State Security division of the State Criminal Police Office has taken over the investigation.
