Berlin police investigate attempted murder of driver in Tempelhof

A 53-year-old man was seriously injured in an attempted murder in the Tempelhof district of Berlin. The victim was found in a Mercedes-Maybach parked on a sidewalk at the corner of Gottlieb-Dunkel-Straße and Eschersheimer Straße around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday.

Investigators believe the man was shot through the windshield. He underwent emergency surgery and remains hospitalized. The homicide commission is treating the incident as an attempted murder, though the motive and the identity of the shooter remain unknown. Police are urgently seeking witnesses who may have heard shots or seen suspicious activity in the area.

This incident follows a series of shootings in Berlin targeting individuals, businesses, and vehicles. Authorities suspect these attacks may be linked to territorial disputes within organized crime circles. In response to the rising violence, the special unit ‘Ferrum’ was established in November 2025.
