Berlin police launch homicide investigation after 13-year-old disappears

Berlin police have launched an investigation into the disappearance of 13-year-old Lisa Tạ, who went missing while on her way to school in the Marzahn district. The girl left her home on Golliner Straße around 7:20 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, intending to travel from Barnimplatz to her school on Sella-Hasse-Straße, but she never arrived.

Authorities have escalated the case, with the 5th Homicide Commission of the State Criminal Police Office taking over the investigation. Investigators stated that they believe the disappearance was not voluntary and that there are grounds to suspect a criminal offense.

Lisa is described as being between 1.60 and 1.65 meters tall with a slender build and long, dark hair. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black hooded quilted jacket, blue flared jeans, and white-beige DC Court Graffik shoes, and was carrying a black backpack. Police are appealing to the public for any information regarding her whereabouts or sightings after 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
