Berlin ranks 12th in new German city stress index
A new stress index released by the telemedicine company CanDoc suggests that Berlin is less stressful than its reputation implies. Ranking twelfth among 30 major German cities, the capital falls within the better half of the study.
While Berlin faces environmental challenges, such as high fine dust levels and a lack of nearby green spaces for 35 percent of its residents, it scores highly in support services. The city ranks third for wellness centers per 100,000 inhabitants and is among the leaders for availability of psychotherapists. Additionally, nighttime noise levels in Berlin are lower than in cities like Cologne or Bonn.
Among eastern German cities, Chemnitz performed best, ranking thirteenth and placing ahead of Leipzig (sixteenth) and Dresden (twenty-second).
