Berlin, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam fight to preserve nightlife

Independent organizers and collectives in Berlin, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam are working to preserve their cities' nightlife against rising rents, increasing energy costs, and commercialization.

In Berlin, the Tag der Clubkultur festival is taking place from October 3 to 11 under the motto ‘STAY CORE’. The event features more than 110 clubs and cultural initiatives participating in approximately 130 events. To support the sector, organizers are distributing 410,000 euros in prizes and financial aid to selected clubs and initiatives to help them combat the pressures of real estate development and rising operational costs.
