Berlin School of Economics and Law reports suspected hidden camera devices
Police have discovered suspected devices for mounting hidden cameras in women's restrooms at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR) Lichtenberg campus. The discovery was reported by a witness on Monday morning.
While the mounting devices were seized by authorities, no actual cameras were found at the scene. Investigators are currently examining the devices to determine if they were used for recording via memory cards or if they were capable of transmitting images online. The toilets involved were located in a publicly accessible area of the campus.
This incident follows a similar occurrence at the same institution several months ago, where cameras were found attached to hygiene product dispensers using Velcro tape. The university has announced it will significantly increase inspections of all sanitary facilities and ensure that any irregularities are documented thoroughly. The police are investigating the matter as a suspected violation of personal privacy.
