A memorial site in Berlin's Tiergarten, established to honor victims of the July 25 Christopher Street Day (CSD) attack, has been targeted by vandals. The site, which included a rainbow-colored bench and a newly planted maple tree, was severely damaged.

Police reported that the rainbow bench was destroyed when wooden elements were forcefully ripped from its metal frame and the backrest was broken off. Subsequently, the memorial maple tree, which was planted in early August, was uprooted from the ground. The destruction was discovered around 1:20 AM, and the perpetrators remain unknown.

The original CSD attack involved a 21-year-old suspect driving a van into a crowd and using a machete, resulting in the death of a Polish woman and injuries to 31 others. Werner Graf, chairman of the Berlin Green Party parliamentary group, expressed shock and stated that the tree would be replanted as many times as necessary.
