Berlin to host Popkultur bildet symposium on music education

The Berlin Music Commission, Landesmusikakademie Berlin, and WeTeK Berlin will host the 'Popkultur bildet' symposium on November 4 and 5 at the Nhow Hotel in Berlin. Held in cooperation with the Bundesverband Popularmusik, the event aims to establish permanent structures for the 'Pop To Go' initiative.

Since 2013, the 'Pop To Go' program has implemented over 4,000 cultural education projects for children and youth, funded by 26.7 million euros from the federal program 'Kultur macht stark'. The symposium will focus on the long-term future of these initiatives, emphasizing the necessity of cooperation with municipal educational landscapes. The event will feature discussions on the intersection of pop culture and local government, as well as professional orientation within the music industry.
