Berlin trial begins for organized burglary gang
A trial has commenced in Berlin against two men accused of participating in an organized gang responsible for 37 burglaries across various Berlin districts, including Zehlendorf and Lichterfelde. The total material damage from these thefts is estimated to exceed 425,000 euros.
One defendant, a 58-year-old farmer from the vicinity of Banja Luka, is accused of involvement in all 37 burglaries. The prosecution describes the group as a ‘traveling gang’ that enters Germany specifically to commit robberies. The second defendant, a 41-year-old, allegedly served as the group's planner, logistician, and driver. He reportedly used an apartment in Tempelhof as a base to store tools and stolen goods, and rented vehicles to transport accomplices to target locations.
