Berlin youth teams earn podium spots in hockey and chess tournaments
At the youth Länderpokal tournament hosted by Münchner SC, Berlin's girls' hockey squad finished third after victories over Bremen and Brandenburg, while the boys' team placed fifth following a win against Bayern in the placement round. Individual performances included Kira Rasch scoring four goals in one match and Elia Brinkhoff netting twice for the boys.
In the Berlin Youth Team Championship (BJMM), the city's chess teams secured runner‑up positions in the U12 and U14 categories, earning qualification for the upcoming North German Club Championship. The U14 team fell to TSG Oberschöneweide in the final, and the U12 side finished second after draws with TSG and Weisse Dame. Both squads highlighted strong individual results from players such as Maxim Gehler and Nikita Nilov.
