Berliner Philharmoniker closes Edinburgh International Festival

The Berliner Philharmoniker concluded the Edinburgh International Festival with a performance at Usher Hall. Conducted by Chief Conductor Kirill Petrenko, the program featured Elgar’s ‘Enigma Variations’ and Tchaikovsky’s ‘Symphony No. 4 in F minor’.

The performance of Elgar’s work included fourteen variations, each portraying members of Elgar’s social circle. Notable moments included the ‘Nimrod’ variation, described as the emotional center of the first half, and the eighth variation, ‘W. N.’, which was noted for its elegance and delicacy.
