Bolivia faces social unrest amid economic crisis and planned protests

Bolivia is facing escalating social and political tension as various sectors announce planned mobilizations to protest an ongoing economic crisis. Organizations aligned with former president Evo Morales have called for protests on October 13 to demand action against rising food prices and the removal of diesel subsidies. While some leaders have clarified that these actions will focus on marches rather than road blockades, others have warned of potential sieges against Santa Cruz if anti-blockade legislation is passed.

In Tarija, local neighborhood groups have announced marches to protest increased public transport fares and the rising cost of basic goods. Meanwhile, the government of President Rodrigo Paz has defended its position, emphasizing the country's significant natural gas reserves and calling for their sustainable exploitation to drive development.

Regarding fuel stability, YPFB has announced a plan to increase the daily supply of gasoline in Potosí to 269,000 liters to address local shortages and reduce long queues at service stations. The state oil company confirmed that fuel prices remain unchanged despite the logistical challenges.
