Bermuda and Bahamas report mixed national examination results

In Bermuda, the Ministry of Education is reviewing the 2026 Cambridge assessment results. The Department of Education is currently analyzing the data to ensure accurate presentation before sharing it with schools and families. According to Minister of Education Diallo Rabain, the results will first be provided to school principals to allow for context-driven discussions with teachers before being released to parents and published on the Ministry’s website.

In the Bahamas, recent national examination results show a mixed performance. While the overall pass rate for BGCSE students increased to 71.49 percent, and the failure rate for BJC examinations dropped to 34.24 percent, concerns remain regarding core subjects. Education Director Dominique McCartney-Russell noted that while many subjects saw GPA improvements, English language and religious studies experienced declines. Only 11.88 percent of BJC candidates met the ministry’s core-subject benchmark by earning a C or better in mathematics, English, and a science subject.
