Bern Police Arrest Speeding Driver After Instagram Video Evidence

A 20‑year‑old driver in the Seeland region of the Swiss canton of Bern repeatedly exceeded speed limits, reaching up to 227 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. He recorded the runs and posted the videos on Instagram and other social platforms.

Police in the canton of Bern received the videos, identified the driver, and conducted a raid on his home in Aegerten on 13 March 2026. The suspect was arrested, his vehicle seized, and his driving licence withdrawn pending further proceedings. The investigation confirmed at least ten speeding offences between 4 February and 11 March 2026, with violations on both highways and local roads.
