Bernadette Greene-Placentia alleges sexual assault on campaign trail

Democratic House candidate Bernadette Greene-Placentia has come forward with allegations that she was raped in August while repairing campaign signs for her grassroots campaign in Arizona's 8th District. Greene-Placentia, who is running against Republican incumbent Abe Hamadeh, stated that the assault occurred after she was struck on the head while working late at night.

Following her public disclosure, Greene-Placentia reported receiving messages from hundreds of women globally sharing their own experiences with sexual assault. She noted that approximately 70% of those who contacted her had previously never reported their own assaults. Her account comes amid broader concerns regarding political violence during the current election season.
