Bernard Attali appointed to transport risk prevention mission

Bernard Attali has been appointed by Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot to lead a mission focused on systemic risk prevention within the transport sector. Attali, the former president of Air France and an honorary master advisor to the Court of Accounts, will oversee this initiative to address safety and systemic vulnerabilities.

Separately, in Charente, a museum located at the former Gourville station has restored a 1910 locomotive known as the ‘petit Mairat’. The narrow-gauge railway, which operated for four decades until the late 1940s, was championed by Paul Mairat, a former deputy and press owner who fought for the development of local interest lines to serve the Charente countryside.
