Bernard Tomic claims first Challenger title in eight years

Australian former world No. 17 Bernard Tomic won the ATP Challenger 75 event in Lincoln, beating Mark Lajal 4‑6, 7‑6(4), 7‑6(3) after nearly three hours of play. It is his first Challenger victory since 2018, when he captured the title in Chengdu, and lifts his ATP ranking to No. 170.

Tomic, who has previously won four ATP Tour titles and reached a career‑high ranking of No. 17 in 2016, has been marked by injuries, periods of inactivity and off‑court controversies. The Lincoln triumph marks a notable comeback after a multi‑year slump and several ITF titles earned between 2022 and 2024.
